At this year’s OPPO INNO Day, OPPO once again showcased concept devices that gives us a glimpse of what our high-tech powered future could look like. βItβs important to build technical capabilities, but itβs even more important to innovatively integrate them,” says OPPO VP Levin Lui. “OPPO believes we should bring the benefits to users, and leave all the complexity to us.”

One of the concepts announced was the OPPO X 2021, a foray into experimental phone form factors. Featuring a rollable display, the phone sports a variable aspect ratio – the 6.7-inch screen can widen to 7.4-inches. This very versatile screen size allows users to adjust to whatever aspect ratio fits their needs. OPPO proprietary tech like the self-developed Warp Track high-strength screen laminate, the Roll Motor powertrain and the 2-in-1 Plate was used to craft the device.

OPPO also showed off an improved version of their AR Glasses. The OPPO AR Glass 2021 adopts a new design and is now 75% lighter than last year’s AR glasses. It is fitted with a stereo fisheye camera, one ToF sensor, and one RGB camera. The CybeReal AR application, powered by real time spatial calculation technology, was also announced.

As of posting, there is no news on whether the public will ever see retail versions of these concepts.
