12.12 sale: Best smartphone tech deals

Some of the best deals you can get during these sales are for smartphones. Big brands will significantly drop the prices of some of their models. Granted, some of these won’t be the latest handsets, but a lot of what we’ve compiled here were flagship handsets, so you won’t exactly get shortchanged. In fact, you’ll save so much more by buying them now.

If you aren’t too picky about getting a device that isn’t the latest and greatest, you’ll scoop up a decent smartphone that can last you a while. We won’t keep you any longer. You can check out the discounted* smartphones below.

Apple iPhone 11

PRICE: Starts at PHP 47,990 (64GB) (12.12 discount: PHP 37,590)

It might be a generation behind, but it’s still a robust handset that’s still upgradeable to the latest iOS version. The iPhone 11 comes with a dual-camera setup at the back with an ultra-wide lens to capture more. It has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD and is water-resistant for up to two meters for 30 minutes. It runs on the speedy A13 Bionic chip and promises an all-day battery life.

Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max

PRICE: Starts at PHP 73,990 (64GB) (12.12 discount: PHP 58,990)

You can also score a fantastic deal on the flagship iPhone 11 Pro Max. It brings the best features of the Pro into an even bigger and better display (6.5-inch OLED). If you want the most premium iPhone that’s discounted, then this is the one to get. It packs in an extra telephoto lens, promising even more photo and video capabilities for you.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro

PRICE: PHP 50,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 34,399)

If you’ve been eyeing the Mate 30 Pro, Huawei is offering this handset at a significantly lower price. And it comes with a free pair of Huawei Freebuds 3 (worth PHP 8,990) when you buy between December 12 and December 14. This flagship Mate model is stunning with its 6.53-inch ultra-curve display that wraps around the edge of the phone, offering you a virtual volume control slider and even virtual buttons for gaming. It’s a quick-charging handset that offers up to 40W charging thanks to SuperCharge tech. But if you rely heavily on Google apps and services, unfortunately, that isn’t baked into this device. You’ll have to rely on Huawei’s AppGallery and other third-party app stores.

Huawei P30 Pro

PRICE: PHP 50,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 28,999)

Here’s another Huawei flagship getting a significant price drop, at almost 50% off its original SRP. This photography-centric smartphone is one of the last Huawei devices to get with Google’s full suite of services preinstalled. It runs on a powerful Kirin 980 processor and comes equipped with a Leica-branded quad-camera setup at the back. Huawei boasts of its camera’s SuperZoom capabilities with up to 10x hybrid zoom.

Lenovo S5 Pro

PRICE: PHP 10,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 4,990)

If you’re looking for a budget device, some older Lenovo handsets are up for sale, too. This S5 Pro comes with pretty decent specs. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. For non-power users, this smartphone should hold up. Our probable gripe with this is the relatively small 3,500mAh battery.

Lenovo K5 Pro

PRICE: PHP 9,490 (12.12 discount: PHP 4,990)

Here’s another budget handset Lenovo is offering for under P5,000. It shares some specs of the S5 Pro, but with a bigger battery. If that’s more important to you, then you might want to check this sale out..

OnePlus 8

PRICE: PHP 35,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 27,290)

Announced earlier this year, the OnePlus 8 gets a big discount. It runs on a powerful Snapdragon 865 with 5G chipset, OxygenOS based on Android 10, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It comes with a big 6.55-inch 90Hz display, triple rear cameras, and a single selfie shooter. If you want a flagship phone at a discount, this is definitely one to consider.

OnePlus 7T Pro

PRICE: PHP 35,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 27,290)

If you would rather have a pop-up selfie camera, the OnePlus 7T Pro will also be discounted at the same price as the OnePlus 8. It has a slightly older processor but comes with a bigger 6.67-inch 90Hz display. It also comes with a larger 256GB storage capacity. So if those are more important to you, the OnePlus 7T Pro might be a better deal for you.

OPPO Reno 2F

PRICE: PHP 18,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 11,090)

Another 2019 handset gets a significant price cut this 12.12. It looks pretty similar to the OnePlus 7T, so if you like the design but can only afford to spend less, then you should check out the OPPO Reno 2F. If you wonder why they share some of its design DNA, well, they’re owned by the same parent company BBK. While this won’t be quite as powerful as the OnePlus 7T, it’s still a capable midrange device that will be worth what you pay for it. And now you don’t have to spend too much.

OPPO Reno 2

PRICE: PHP 28,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 18,890)

This midrange OPPO handset is getting a P10,000 price cut, making it a more attractive purchase. While OPPO has ditched the fin-like, pop-up selfie cameras recently, the Reno 2 is one of the phones that still have it. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Most users will get a lot out of this phone. It has a sizeable 4,000mAh battery with support for VOOC Flash Charge 3.0, so you can easily top it up, too.

Realme 6 Pro

PRICE: PHP 16,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 13,990)

The Realme 6 Pro might not be offered with a heftier price cut than others, but it’s one of the most distinctive handsets we’ve seen in a while, so we couldn’t help mentioning it. The lightning-like design on the back panel is an eye-catcher. And Realme pairs that with some compelling specs, including a 6.6-inch 90Hz display for smoother scrolling, quad-camera rear setup, 30W Flash Charge (promising a full charge in an hour), and more.

Realme X3 SuperZoom

PRICE: PHP 24,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 20,490)

Another powerful Realme smartphone getting a discount is the Realme X3 SuperZoom. As its name suggests, it brings an impressive 60x zoom. Its cameras also offer features like Starry Mode and an improved Nightscape 4.0 for better nighttime photography. The X3 SuperZoom allows for buttery smooth scrolling thanks to its 120Hz Ultra Smooth display. And you don’t have to worry about running out of battery. Its 4,200mAh battery can be topped up in under an hour thanks to 30W Dart Charge.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

PRICE: PHP 55,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 45,990)

If you want to get your hands on Samsung’s modern take on the flip phone, you can get one at P10,000 less during the 12.12 sale. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip features a 6.7-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, Android 10 skinned with One UI 2.5, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It’s such a sleek, pocketable device that we don’t blame you for wanting one. Why not get a good deal on it?

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

PRICE: PHP 69,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 37,990)

Samsung’s most premium handset gets a significant price cut, and it’s something you might want to snatch up asap. The Galaxy S20 Ultra with its 12GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, Exynos 990 processor, and 5,000mAh battery with super-fast charging is one of the best deals you can get during Lazada’s 12.12 sale. You get other advanced features like a 108-megapixel high-resolution camera with 100x Space Zoom and improved Night Mode. On top of that, you can record in 8K, too. Its 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED even has a 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung threw everything plus the kitchen sink at this handset. So, this is quite the steal.

Vivo V19 Neo

PRICE: PHP 17,999 (12.12 discount: PHP 12,998)

If you want a smartphone you can take on nighttime adventures, then the Vivo V19 Neo is a great option. And, of course, we love that you can get it on sale, too. The Vivo V19 Neo is a capable midranger that runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, Android 10 skinned with Funtouch OS 10, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Those looking for a good deal in the budget space can look at this 2019 Vivo Y15 handset. It offers a triple camera setup with a 120-degree super wide-angle lens plus a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. It runs on 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. If you need a phone to go with you the extra mile, the Y15 packs in a big 5,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi 9

PRICE: PHP 6,990 (12.12 discount: PHP 4,990)

Here’s another entry-level steal. This time, it comes from Xiaomi. This year’s Redmi 9 also gets a discount. Running on a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, the Redmi 9 comes with a sizeable 5,020mAh battery you can top up relatively quickly with support for 18-watt charging. It has a quad-camera setup at the back to allow for different shooting modes. It’s great for watching shows and films with its big 6.53-inch FHD display.

Xiaomi Redmi 9A

PRICE: PHP 4,690 (12.12 discount: PHP 3,790)

If you want a bigger bargain, Xiaomi will also offer the Redmi 9A at a discounted price on 12.12. Like the Redmi 9, it has a large 6.53-inch display, and it pairs that with a big 5,000mAh battery. It might not offer all the bells and whistles of the more expensive handsets. But if you just need a device to get you through the day and perform simple smartphone tasks or casual gaming, this might be enough for you.
