Xiaomi continues to flood the smartwatch market. A few months after the Mi Watch and only two weeks after the Redmi Watch, the manufacturer is launching a new model, the Mi Watch Lite.

Called Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite, this new smartwatch has in fact a more similar design to the Mi Watch of 2019 than the 2020 model. It must be said that it does not have a round screen, but rather a square format with a 1.4 inch diagonal and a definition of 320 x 320 pixels. However, it is not an OLED panel like many smartwatches, but a TFT LCD screen.
A LITE MODEL WITH GPS TRACKING
The Mi Watch Lite is equipped with a silicone strap, a button on the right side for more control and has over 120 customizable interfaces. Featuring a 230 mAh battery, it can be recharged using a supplied magnetic base and allows up to nine days of use in typical use, and ten hours with the GPS activated. Speaking of navigation, The watch is equipped with a GPS tracker accompanied by GLONASS (Global Satellite Navigation System), a barometer and a pedometer.
Even if the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite is considered as a “Lite” model, it still comes with physical activity tracking. It is compatible with eleven different exercises including running, indoor and outdoor cycling, treadmill running, sea and pool swimming, freestyle, cricket, trekking, hiking, and walking. The Mi Watch Lite also offers sleep tracking, 24 hours heart rate monitoring and guided breathing to reduce stress level. However, the watch does not offer SpO2 monitoring.
On the utility side, available features include notification alerts from smartphone applications, music control, and the weather forecast.
For now, it is not yet clear at what price and in which countries the Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite will be marketed. Given its “Lite” suffix and the launch price of the Mi Watch, we can however expect a price of less than $100.
