ORIGINAL STORY:

Samsung has new wireless earbuds, and it no longer looks like a bean, unfortunately. (We thought it was a fun shape!) Instead, we get something that looks like the love child of the Galaxy Buds+ and Buds Live. The Galaxy Buds Pro lives up to its name by improving on those two previous-generation buds.

The Buds Pro packs in a 6.5mm tweeter and 11mm woofer. It also introduces Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation, which has adjustable ANC and promises to block 99% of noise, and a Voice Detect mode that switches to Ambient Sound and lowers the volume if it detects that you’re talking to someone.

Adjustable ANC means you can reduce noise cancellation level if you find yourself in a space that doesn’t need it. Ambient Sound is also adjustable. It’s easier to control its settings as you can do so through the Galaxy Wearable app and widget or in the Bluetooth settings. If you use Bixby, you can activate ANC there, too.

Oh, and yes, it has 360 Audio as well, promising a more immersive listening experience.

The Galaxy Buds Pro supports an auto switch feature, allowing you to change between compatible devices depending on which one is playing content. It only works on Samsung smartphones and tablets that run on One UI 3.1 or above and will require the devices to be registered on the same Samsung account.

Samsung promises five hour battery life on a single charge (eight if ANC is off), plus an additional 13 hours (20 hours with ANC off) with the charging case.

The Galaxy Buds Pro is a bit more durable with an IPX7 water resistance rating, which means it can handle being submerged in 1-meter water for up to 30 minutes. The Buds Pro and Buds Live only had an IPX2 rating.
