Redmi Note 10 series global launch + PH pricing details

This story was originally published on March 4, 2021, and last updated on June 3, 2021.

Xiaomi is quick to follow up the Redmi Note 9T in January with a new Redmi Note series aiming to take the midrange king crown. This time, you get four new handsets to choose from: the Redmi Note 10 Pro, Redmi Note 10S, Redmi Note 10, and Redmi Note 10 5G. It’s a diverse range of devices with varying specs to suit different needs.

Redmi Note 10 Pro: 108MP cam + 120Hz AMOLED screen comes to the Redmi Note series

Xiaomi wants to swing it out of the park with the Redmi Note 10 Pro. It offers premium specs at a more budget-friendly price than the Mi 11, which also launched recently.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro brings the 108-megapixel sensor with 9-in-1 binning tech to the midrange Redmi Note series. Combined with dual native ISO, the cameras on this handset promise pictures with great details and a higher dynamic range. Night mode 2.0 offers better quality images in low-light settings. Plus, you get a slew of photo and video modes like Photo Clones, Video Clones, Dual Video, and Long Exposure modes to play around with and share on social media.

It also packs in an 8-megapixel ultrawide, 5-megapixel telemacro, and 2-megapixel depth sensors. In front, there’s a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

The company also equips the Redmi Note 10 Pro with a 120Hz refresh rate display with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The 6.67-inch AMOLED DotDisplay has a 20:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. To give you an excellent gaming and viewing experience, the Redmi Note 10 Pro has a dual-speaker setup, too.

Xiaomi introduces a new Arc side fingerprint sensor for most of the Redmi Note 10 phones, which flushes the sensor to the side and seamlessly integrates into the handset. It’s designed to be more comfortable in hand while maintaining its ease of use.

This unit also gets IP53 protection, which should keep it safe from splashes. And it is available in three colors: Onyx Gray, Glacier Blue, and Gradient Bronze.

We expect decent performance from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G chipset, which we got to test while we reviewed the Poco X3. You should be able to get the most out of this processor when you game, watch content, and everything in between. It runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11. And there are either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage on the Redmi Note 10 Pro. You can see the variants available in the table at the end of this post.

A full day’s use and more isn’t far off, thanks to the 5,020mAh battery on this handset. Topping it up quickly won’t be an issue either with support for 33W fast-charging. Xiaomi promises getting up to around 60% in just 30 minutes!

The Redmi Note 10 Pro’s starting price is USD 279 and PHP 12,590.

Redmi Note 10S & Note 10: Upgrades to the midrange

There are several similarities between the Redmi Note 10S and Note 10 that it’s easier to talk about these devices together. But there are also distinct differences that might make you decide to choose one over the other.

What’s the same?

Both are equipped with 6.43-inch AMOLED DotDisplay screens with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, new Arc side fingerprint sensors, dual speakers, IP53 rating, and 33W wired fast charging for their 5,000mAh batteries.

Redmi Note 10S

They differ slightly in camera setups. The Redmi Note 10S has a 64-megapixel main shooter, while the Redmi Note 10 has a 48-megapixel primary sensor. Both get an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens for landscapes and group shots, a 2-megapixel macro camera for close-ups, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor to help with portraits. Both also get 13-megapixel front cameras. Xiaomi also brings its Pro time-lapse capabilities to the Redmi Note 10S and Note 10.

The two phones also differ when it comes to the chipsets that power them. The Redmi Note 10S runs on a MediaTek Helio G95, while the Redmi Note 10 is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 678. The Redmi Note 10S runs on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11, while the Redmi Note 10 runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11.

Redmi Note 10

You get more RAM with the Redmi Note 10S as it starts at 6GB until 8GB, while the Redmi Note 10 maxes out at 6GB and begins at 4GB. Both have 64GB or 128GB storage options. The variants can be seen in the specs table at the end of this story.

The Redmi Note 10S and Note 10 are both available in Onyx Gray and Pebble White. You can also get the Note 10S in Ocean Blue, while the Note 10 also comes in Lake Green.

The starting price for the Redmi Note 10S is USD 229 (around PHP 11,113). As for the Redmi Note 10, its cost begins at USD 199 and PHP 8,490.

Redmi Note 10 5G: Accessible 5G

If 5G is more your speed, Xiaomi also unveiled the Redmi Note 10 5G, the second Redmi phone to offer 5G after the Redmi Note 9T. This handset runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 700, which supports dual 5G SIM.

Aside from fast connectivity, the Redmi Note 10 5G features a 6.5-inch 90Hz AdaptiveSync DotDisplay, meaning it automatically adjusts the refresh rate based on what you’re doing. It allows you to get a smooth experience and optimum battery use.

The Redmi Note 10 5G has a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There is an 8-megapixel camera in front.

Redmi Note 10 5G

It has the same RAM and storage configuration as the Redmi Note 10, which starts at 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. It loses the other Note 10 devices’ Arc side fingerprint sensor and has a more standard one. It also has a 5,000mAh battery but with a slower 18W wired fast-charging support.

The Redmi Note 10 5G comes in different colorways than the rest of its series mates with Chrome Silver, Graphite Gray, Nighttime Blue, and Aurora Green. Its starting price is USD 199 (around PHP 9,657).
