Fitbit’s newest fitness tracker isn’t just practical; the company wants you to think of it as a fashion accessory, too. Aptly named the Luxe, Fitbit calls it the brand’s “most fashion-forward fitness and wellness tracker yet.”
Its looks remind us of the Fitbit Inspire line, but the company pushes that further to make it look like a classy bracelet. It has a polished stainless steel finish and several bands or accessories to choose from, including a platinum or soft gold stainless steel link bracelet, premium Horween leather double wrap, classic bands, woven bands, and stainless steel mesh options.
That link bracelet option is a special edition strap Fitbit developed with Laguna Beach-based jewelry brand gorjana. The classic bands come in colors like Black, Lunar White, Orchid, and Peony. The double wrap option is available in Black, Sunrise, and Earth Gray Croc, while the woven bands come in Slate and Hibiscus.
This variety makes the Luxe its most fashionable tracker yet, designed to cater to a diverse range of wrist sizes and skin tones for 24/7 wear.
The Luxe doesn’t have any buttons, and it is Fitbit’s thinnest touchscreen tracker to date. It’s also Fitbit’s first tracker with a colored display, which comes with customizable watch faces, of course.
Aside from looking good, the Luxe wants to offer you a more holistic approach to your health and wellness.
As with other Fitbit wearables, the Luxe can track your daily heart rate in real-time, sleep, hydration, food intake, weight, and menstrual health. In some regions, blood glucose logging will be available through the Fitbit app, too.
You can log around 20 different workouts. And if you hike or run outdoors, you can use the connected GPS from your phone to keep track of your real-time pace and distance. The Luxe is also swim-proof up to 50m, even offering automatic tracking of how long you’ve been swimming.
Fitbit is bringing its stress management tools through the in-app Stress Management Score. It monitors the physical signs of stress, factoring data like your activity levels, heart rate, and sleep.
The Luxe also has provides data for Fitbit’s Health Metrics dashboard. This dashboard makes it easy to see your health information, so you can take note of the changes you need to implement to improve your health and wellbeing. It tracks your breathing rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, and skin temperature variation. Oxygen saturation (SpO2) tracking is coming soon for some markets.
For a more detailed look into your health, Fitbit’s Premium service will give you that insight you might need to make better health choices.
The Fitbit Luxe promises up to five days of battery life on a single charge, but that is dependent on your use.
If you need smart features like notifications and alarms, the Luxe also has those included in its sleek package.
In countries like the US, the Fitbit Luxe’s pre-order kicks off today at Fitbit.com and major retailers. Worldwide availability is in the spring.
The standard Fitbit Luxe retails for USD 149.95 (around PHP 7,279), while the gorjana for Fitbit Luxe Special Edition costs USD 199.95 (PHP 9,706). It comes with six months of Fitbit Premium for free.
In the Philippines, the Fitbit Luxe is available at a starting price of PHP 8,490.
