In case you missed the news, Black Shark’s new gaming phone is coming to the Philippines real soon. We’ve spotted the Black Shark 4 on the company’s Lazada page ahead of its April 28 availability. Well, at least for a couple of the variants.
There are four options available in total and these are what you can get:
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – PHP 24,950
- 8GB + 128GB – PHP 26,990
- 12GB + 128GB – PHP 29,990
- 12GB + 256GB – PHP 34,990
Based on the Lazada listings, the 8GB and 12GB + 256GB models will be available starting April 28. Meanwhile, the 6GB and 12GB + 128GB variants will arrive on May 10. We first heard about the existence of the listing from Revu.
As you can see from the images, three out of the four options will be discounted, too. We don’t have the details about when these discounts will go into effect but for your reference:
- 6GB will be discounted at PHP 21,950
- 8GB will be discounted at PHP 23,950
- 12GB + 128GB will be discounted at PHP 29,990
There will even be a free gaming cooler with each purchase, but again, we don’t have information yet on which purchases get the freebie.
The Black Shark 4 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870-powered handset that offers Joy UI 12.5 based on Android 11, up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
As a gaming device, the Black Shark 4 is equipped with pop-up magnetic triggers on the side that you can press while gaming in landscape mode. According to Xiaomi, the triggers can tell the difference between light and hard presses. When these aren’t in use, they can slide back into the sides of the phones to avoid accidental touches. It’s also equipped with a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED FHD+ display that supports up to 144Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+.
The Black Shark 4 has a standard 4,500mAh dual battery, which might not seem much. But it can support up to 120-watt fast-charging. That will require a compatible rapid charger, though, which it doesn’t ship with. Xiaomi will supply a 67W power brick with this handset.
You won’t buy this phone for its camera capabilities. Nevertheless, it comes armed with a rear triple camera setup, including a 48-megapixel primary lens, 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and 5-megapixel macro shooter. In front, there’s a 20-megapixel selfie camera.
Lazada’s listing shows that the 8GB and 12GB models will be available in Gray and Illusion Black.
