What you need to know about the Infinix Hot 10S

This story was originally published on May 10, 2021, and last updated on June 17, 2021.

On the hunt for a new smartphone? Here’s one more option to check out. Infinix positions its new Hot 10S as the “ultimate smartphone” for your gaming and entertainment needs.

What will you get with this budget-friendly handset?

Gaming-ready hardware

The Hot 10S is armed with a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, which you’ve seen on devices like the Redmi Note 9. Infinix pairs that chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which should be adequate for casual gamers. This dual 4G SIM phone incorporates Infinix’s optimization engine software, the Dar-link Ultimate Game Booster, which is designed with the smartphone’s hardware to improve graphic image stability and screen sensitivity. To navigate through the phone’s interface, Infinix has its XO7.6 UI based on Android 11.

Big display

Infinix arms the Hot 10S with a large 6.82-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate, allowing you to enjoy a smooth scrolling experience. Paired with DTS Audio, you are promised a good viewing experience, too.

Armed with a large 6,000mAh battery

Use the Hot 10S for long stretches with its large-capacity battery. Infinix adds on its Power Marathon technology, which it claims adds 25% power once you’ve run it down to 5%, so you can save or finish gaming sessions or keep those video calls going until you can properly sign off (or grab a charger).

Based on testing from the Infinix data lab, the Hot 10S supports 62 days on standby, 182 hours of music playback, 17.3 hours of continuous gaming, or 76 hours of calls on a full charge.

It has built-in Safe-Charge technology to ensure that the power is automatically turned off once the device is fully charged to avoid overheating and wasting energy.

Four cameras to stretch your creativity

There’s a triple camera array at the back paired with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. According to the company, the selfie shooter is the first to get eye-tracking autofocus, auto-blur videos, and face beautification in its Hot series.

There’s a 48-megapixel rear HD camera at the phone’s rear coupled with an AI camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Hot 10S introduces a new Super Nightscape mode to help you in dark/low-light situations. It can record up to 2K video, and it supports 240fps slow-motion recording, too.

Eye-catching design

The Hot 10S has these geometric-like patterns on the phone’s back, which the company said it used Laser Micron Lithography tech to achieve. The company said its design draws inspiration from the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia.
