Top 3 exciting features of the realme 8 series

This story was originally published on May 11, 2021, and last updated on May 12, 2021.

realme is gearing up to launch its new realme 8 series smartphones tonight. If you want to check out the new realme 8 and realme 8 Pro and find out how much they cost, tune in tonight, May 11, at 6 p.m. on realme Philippines’ Facebook and YouTube pages.

The brand will also unveil its first TV commercial with new realme ambassador Kathryn Bernardo. It teases that the commercial will “unveil a new different side of Kathryn which fans can look forward to.”

If you want to get a heads up on what to expect, we’ve listed the three most exciting features you will get from this new line.

108MP debuts on a realme device

You’ve probably seen promotions of realme’s first 108-megapixel camera on the realme 8 Pro. It uses Samsung’s HM2 sensor, which promises to capture even more detail than ever. The company pairs that with advanced camera features, so you’ll get the most out of your photos and videos. It gets features like the world’s first Tilt-shift Time-lapse Video and Starry Time-lapse Video.

To enjoy all the content you shoot, both the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro are equipped with high-definition Super AMOLED displays.

Fast-charging still included

Admittedly, the realme 8 Pro has a slightly slower 50W SuperDart Charge than its predecessor for its 4,500mAh battery. Representatives from realme said they made this choice to help prolong the battery’s health. That charging speed is still nothing to sneeze at as you’re promised to get a full charge in 47 minutes.

The realme 8 retains the 30W dart charge of its predecessor, which still ekes out a speedy 65 minutes of charging time to get from 0-100%. It also supports reverse charging for those who need it. The company proudly boasts that even with its 5,000mAh battery, it is quite a thin and light device at 7.99mm and 177g.

One other specification the realme 8 keeps is its MediaTek Helio G95 chipset, while the realme 8 Pro retains the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor of its predecessor, too. The brand assures us the chipset is still enough to handle top mobile titles like Mobile LegendsCall of Duty MobileLeague of Legends: Wild RiftPUBG Mobile, and more.

Eye-catching looks

This feature might be a bit more divisive than the others. But for those who want to make bold statements with their devices, realme is giving you that option with its Infinite Bold Design, which includes the brand’s Dare To Leap ethos etched into the back of the phone.

You can get the realme 8 Pro in Infinite Blue and Infinite Black for PHP 16,990, while the realme 8 comes in Cyber Silver and Cyber Black for PHP 13,990. Both come in 8GB + 128GB variants. Both realme 8 phones will be available exclusively at PHP 1,000 off during a Lazada flash sale on May 12.

From May 13 onwards, the realme 8 will be available for purchase at regular prices in all realme e-commerce platforms, concept stores, kiosks, and partner dealers nationwide. The realme 8 Pro, on the other hand, will only be available from May 22 onwards. Pre-orders made for the realme 8 Pro from May 11-22 will come with a free realme Buds Air Pro worth PHP 4,990.

realme is also offering flexible payment plans for the realme 8 series. These new handsets are available via Home Credit at six- or nine-month installment plans for the realme 8 Pro, and a six-month installment plan for the realme 8. Both are at 0% interest. There will also be installment plans for major credit cards.

realme Philippines just unveiled a limited edition Illuminating Yellow option for the realme 8 Pro. There’s a fun element to it as there are some elements that glow in the dark, specifically the Dare To Leap engraving and the frame around the camera module. It will be available at select stores, and it’s priced at PHP 16,990, too.
