What you can expect from the realme GT (Global Version)

It’s been over three months since the realme GT 5G made its debut in China. Now, the company is ready to bring it to more countries with aggressive pricing that can draw the interest of those who want flagship specs but don’t have the budget for it.

Price and availability

Countries like Poland, Russia, Spain, and Thailand already have the realme GT available for purchase, with more markets to come in the future.

  • 8GB + 128GB – EUR 449 (around PHP 26,177)
  • 12GB + 256GB – EUR 599 (around PHP 34,922)

realme is offering early bird prices for both configurations. The 8GB option will be available for only EUR 369 (around PHP 21,513) on AliExpress from June 21 to 25. The 12GB variant will be priced at EUR 499 (around PHP 29,092) on Amazon during Prime Day on June 21.

According to The Verge, the official list price of the 12GB is at EUR 599, but realme told the publication its actual price would be EUR 549 (around PHP 32,007) on its website.

Inspired by Grand Tourers

Speed is a theme realme wants to emphasize with the realme GT. Its design is inspired by grand tourer sports cars (thus the name GT), which are luxury vehicles offering high speed and performance.

There are three options available, two are covered by glass, and one has a vegan leather back. The glass options come in Dashing Silver and Dashing Blue and feature a 3D light-reflecting pattern with shooting arrow patterns representing speed and dynamism. The Racing Yellow comes in realme’s brand color with a dual-tone leather finish and a racing stripe of sorts that directs the eye to the triple camera module.

Quenches your need for speed

The realme GT is one of the most affordable options to run on the flagship-grade Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. We’ve already mentioned configurations earlier, but these are LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage options. realme adds a stainless steel VC cooling system in the GT that’s supposed to improve its heat dissipation and boost cooling efficiency by up to 50%.

If you’re looking for fast charging, you can also find that in the realme GT. It’s armed with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W SuperDart wired charging, getting you from zero to 100% in around 35 minutes. Unfortunately, you don’t have wireless charging here.

Other flagship specs

Even with a lower price tag, the realme GT is the brand’s flagship. So, you also get specs like a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate, 5G and Wi-Fi 6 support, Android 12 Beta 1 (one of the first devices to get it), Dolby Dual Stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio, and even a 3.5mm audio jack with low latency and low interference charge.

For its cameras, you get a 64-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel ultrawide, and 2-megapixel macro at the back, plus a 16-megapixel selfie in front.

realme brings many features we’ve come to expect from flagships into a device that’s at a fraction of its typical price range. The realme GT is one device we’d love to take for a spin.
