While Lenovo’s latest gaming phone isn’t new in the international market, the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 just debuted in the Philippines tonight.
Preorders have kicked off today, June 18, until June 30. The phone is available in two configurations:
- 12GB + 256GB – PHP 39,995 (approx. USD 825)
- 16GB + 512GB – PHP 49,995 (USD 1,031)
Both come in Ultimate Black and Titanium White, but the white variant will arrive later. If you preorder, you get a free Lenovo HD100 Bluetooth headset and a limited-edition Legion Pilipinas Jacket. It will be available in all Legion Exclusive Stores, authorized resellers, and the Lenovo Legion Flagship Store on Lazada.
The Titanium White is finally in the Philippines. And it’s available at Legion Exclusive Stores and authorized resellers. Pricing now is a bit lower than it was when the Legion Phone Duel 2 launched back in June.
The 128GB variant retails for PHP 34,995 (USD 691), while the 256GB goes for PHP 39,995 (USD 789).
What’s with all the hype, though? And why are we calling it the Cool tech of the week? (Watch for more of these posts in the future!)
Let’s do a quick rundown!
Armed with the latest and greatest
You’ve seen the configurations above. Now, the Legion Phone Duel 2 pairs that with the 5G-capable 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor; Lenovo’s ZUI 12.5 based on Android 11; 6.92-inch AMOLED screen with 144Hz refresh rate, 720Hz touch-sampling rate, and HDR 10+ support; and a 5,500mAh battery that supports up to 90-watt fast charging over TWO USB-C ports. (Yes, two, so you can charge easily even while playing in landscape.)
All about the gamer
While the top-of-the-line specs mentioned above already make the Legion Phone Duel 2 a competent gaming smartphone. Lenovo adds more gaming-specific features into the mix.
The phone is still oriented in landscape since many games are played typically in this orientation. One USB port sticks out from the center of the phone, while the other is in the more conventional bottom part of the device. There are eight touch-sensitive triggers on this handset, including four ultrasonic shoulder keys, two pressure-sensitive buttons on the display, and two rear touchpads for a more console controller-like feel.
The processor and logic board are centered in this phone to help with thermal management. It also comes with a dual turbo fan cooling system to make sure you can play the most popular and demanding AAA mobile games at their max settings without any issue.
The side-mounted pop-up selfie carries over from its predecessor, but it gets a megapixel boost from 20-megapixel to 44-megapixel. This camera orientation allows gamers who are also content creators to stream easily without downloading anything extra. The rear camera setup is identical to last year’s model, with a 64-megapixel primary paired with a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens.
If you want to see the phone in action, Isa’s got a quick video up on the device.
