This might still be a concept right now, and we might not see it in its current form. But we want to call attention to tech advancements, especially in spaces where the impact will be felt by many. Infinix recently introduced the Infinix Concept Phone 2021, packing in tech we wished an actual, production-ready Infinix phone already has.

Introducing 160W Ultra Flash Charge
The talk of the town has to be the customized 160W wired charging system capable of charging its 4,000mAh battery in around 10 minutes. It also has 50W fast wireless charging, but this rate is already available on the market (like the OnePlus 9 Pro).
The Ultra Fast Charge tech is built around an 8C battery, which Infinix claims has 18% lower internal resistance than a 6C battery. According to GSMArena, these so-called “C-rate” numbers tell how fast a lithium battery can be charged and discharged.
Infinix developed the Super Charge Pump, which converts the incoming voltage from the USB-C port to the voltage that goes into the battery itself, with an efficiency of 98.6%. For comparison, OPPO’s 126W system has three parallel pumps that achieve 98% efficiency.

The higher the percentage, the better as the remaining percentage points to 100% turn to heat. In the case of internal battery resistance, the higher the number that translates to more heat.
To help regulate the Infinix Concept 2021’s temperature, the handset comes with 20 temperature sensors dotted around the device. These sensors work to ensure the phone remains under 40 degrees Celsius. If it goes over or the phone notices a higher than expected voltage or electromagnetic interference, security protection kicks in to prevent damage. There are 60 security protection mechanisms in the device.
The charge itself is built with Gallium Nitrate and Silicon Carbide semiconductors, which keep it compact and highly efficient. And it can even charge laptops.

Color-changing tech
Infinix also experimented with some design concepts on this smartphone. The word Now is stenciled on the back, representing the company’s motto of “The future is now.” But what’s impressive about it is there’s color-changing technology based on electrochromic and electroluminescent tech.
When the phone charges, the “O” pulses like a breathing light in green. At the same time, the rest of the back panel changes from silver to light blue when the device gets notifications.
Its 6.67-inch 1080p+ AMOLED screen also gets some extreme curvature at 88 degrees, effectively taking out the buttons on the sides.
Infinix arms the Concept Phone 2021 with the company’s first periscope lens. It has an 8-megapixel sensor and 135mm lens that can zoom in up to 60x digitally, and it’s expected to get 10x magnification, too.
