‘Art In The Park Online’ experiences worth checking out

To celebrate its 15th anniversary, Art In The Park has assembled an exciting lineup of artists for this online exhibit happening from July 25 to August 1. Different artists from various fields will showcase their work as part of Globe Platinum Hour.

Kicking off the week-long event, multi-awarded illustrator, Robert Alejandro, returns for another edition of “Globe Platinum Hour for Kids!” on July 25, 3:30 PM. He will once again engage kids and their parents with practical tips and tricks to create their watercolor masterpieces at home.

On July 27, 8:00 PM, fans of avant-garde visual artist Leeroy New can catch the premiere of “Myths, Monsters, and Aliens: The World of Leeroy New,” a special video featuring his journey to becoming a well-loved figure in the local contemporary art scene.

On July 29, 8:00 PM, Platinum customers will catch a glimpse of up-and-coming artist Anna Bautista’s creative process in a special video entitled “Time Capsules by Anna Bautista.”

If you want to tune in, you can stream through the event’s official Facebook and Instagram pages.

Globe Platinum subscribers can also access exclusive, unique pieces from the featured artists on the Globe Platinum Collection of the Art In The Park site.

Collectors can expect select pieces from Leeroy New, including his coveted alien masks, sculpted mirrors, and popular hand-painted hearts.

Anna Bautista, known for her lyrical brushstrokes that merge different cultural elements and moments across different periods, will express her artistry on limited-edition silk chiffon scarves priced at PHP 8,500 each. In addition, one of three customers will have the chance to avail of a private portrait session with Anna Bautista for PHP 35,000.

To access the special collection available for sale online, Platinum subscribers can access the Platinum Collection page by entering a passcode available through Thea, Globe Platinum’s Digital Assistant, at glbe.co/PLATEVENTS.

If you purchase from the special edition of Art in the Park Online, you will receive limited-edition tokens specially designed by Anna Bautista for the event. Inspired by the concept of “Time Capsules,” Bautista memorialized day-to-day fragments in the form of exquisitely designed face masks and abanicos—a traditional hand fan made out of quality bamboo.

These tokens were produced by Casa Mercedes Inc., the oldest fan maker in the Philippines, which uses techniques that are currently employed by the few remaining fan makers in Spain and Paris, making these historic pieces part of cultural heritage.

To score these exclusive gifts, you must remember to enter their Globe Platinum mobile number at the checkout page.

Globe Platinum and Art Fair Philippines have long been working together to support the Filipino art scene. Proceeds from the sales will support projects by the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., an organization responsible for the construction of the Grand Foyer at the National Museum of Natural History, the rehabilitation of the National Planetarium, and the transfer and conservation of the “Progress of Medicine in the Philippines” by National Artist Botong Francisco, among others.
