After launching the nova 8 in China back in December, Huawei is finally ready to internationally introduce the handset alongside the nova 8i. This August, both devices are coming to the Philippines. Huawei hasn’t revealed the date or pricing of the devices yet, but we’ll make sure to keep you posted.
What can you expect from both devices?
The nova series is geared towards the younger, stylish set who prioritize taking photos and videos with their phones. The nova 8 and 8i come equipped with a 64-megapixel quad-camera setup with a large CMOS sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and 2-megapixel depth and macro sensors.
They offer camera features like Raw Domain Super Nightshot, TWS Video Voice Remote Recording, Time-lapse Video Recording, HDR Portrait, and more. For the nova 8’s 32-megapixel selfie camera and the nova 8i’s 16-megapixel selfie shooter, Huawei offers its night photography features, too.
Aside from their photography capabilities, the nova 8 and 8i boast about their fast-charging feature, too. These two handsets get Huawei’s extra speedy 66W SuperCharge, which can top up the nova 8’s 3,800mAh battery and the nova 8i’s 4,300mAh battery quite quickly.
As for the other specs, the Huawei nova 8i packs in a 6.67-inch screen with a 2,376 x 1080 resolution and standard 60Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and EMUI 11.1 based on Android 11. The nova 8i comes in stylish colors like Moonlight Silver, Interstellar Blue, and Starry Black.
While the Huawei nova 8 has a 6.57-inch curved OLED display with a 2,340 x 1,080 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, Kirin 820E processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and EMUI 12. The nova 8 comes in this eye-catching Blush Gold shade.
Both devices run on Huawei Mobile Services and get access to Huawei’s AppGallery and Petal Search. They get seamless cross-device experiences with other Huawei devices like Huawei FreeBuds and MateBook products.
The Huawei nova 8 and 8i are available for pre-order starting today, August 12, until August 26, 2021, via online Huawei Store, Lazada, Shopee, or through Huawei Experience Stores nationwide.
