Sony has just introduced the newest member of its XR series, the Bravia XR A80J 4K OLED TV, with a promise of offering “a smooth and in-depth experience when you watch your favorite content.”
This new TV is part of Sony’s new “Cognitive Intelligence TVs,” which run on the Cognitive Processor XR. This tech is designed with a new processing method that aims to replicate the way our brains think and respond so you can get a truly immersive experience.
The Bravia XR A80J also has XR OLED Contrast for adjusting brightness for higher peaks in glare and deeper black in shadow, XR Triluminos Pro for broader color reproduction, and XR Motion Clarity for less blur with moving images and less brightness loss during high-speed scenes. With XR 4K Upscaling, this television can upscale 2K signals to as close to true 4K quality possible.

There’s improved Acoustic Surface Audio+ for better audio, which delivers more accurate sound positioning and cinematic surround sound. This TV also supports Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos for better video and audio quality.
With an Ambient Optimization feature, you’re promised great sound and video quality in any environment. The Bravia XR A80J also has a Netflix Calibrated Mode to get “studio-quality” Netflix content. It is Calman Ready, which offers advanced calibration options to fine-tune your picture settings further.
You get easy access to apps and services with this Google TV. Of course, it supports Google Assistant, too, with other connectivity options like Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. Its HDMI 2.1 compatibility includes 4K 120fps, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and e-ARC.
