Huawei MatePad T 8 Kids Edition

Huawei designed this 8-inch tablet for kids ages three to eight as a tool for them to learn and be entertained on without constant supervision. There are safety features integrated into the Huawei MatePad T 8 Kids Edition to alleviate the worries of parents and guardians.

This tablet loads directly into Huawei’s Kids Corner app that comes pre-loaded with child-friendly content. The company has partnered with BabyBus and Azoomee for easier access to educational apps for children. The adults can manage what apps kids have access to and view what they’re using. You can even set time limits for how long children can use the Huawei MatePad T 8 Kids Edition.

Huawei is thinking about protecting children’s eyesight with eye-protection features like a blue light filter, posture and bumpy road alerts to encourage better usage, and an eBook mode to get a reading experience similar to reading physical books.

Your child can also use the Huawei MatePad T 8 Kids Edition in “normal” mode once they are old enough to use the tablet with less supervision. It can even allow you to use the device when your kid isn’t using it.

This tablet comes in a bright blue case with green grips made with environmentally safe, edible-grade silicone. No, your kid shouldn’t eat the tablet, but if they do put it in their mouth, you’re assured that it won’t have any damaging effect on them.

Its curved back is meant to make it comfortable to hold for smaller hands. And the stylus pen can be attached to the case, so you don’t have to worry about your kid misplacing it.

The Huawei MatePad T 8 Kids Edition is powered by a MediaTek MT8768 chipset with Android 10-based EMUI 10, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a sizeable 5,100mAh battery. It also has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.

Huawei Watch Kids 4 Pro

If you’re looking for a device to help keep your child healthy and safe, the Huawei Watch Kids 4 Pro is designed with this idea in mind.

The company equipped this smartwatch with its network positioning services to provide accurate positioning on your child every 120 seconds. Parents and guardians will get a notification if your child leaves or enters your designated Safe Zone. Huawei assures that it adheres to strict data encryption and privacy protection to keep your child safe.

And with its 5-megapixel front camera, your kid can video call you via Huawei’s MeeTime app on supported Huawei devices.

The Watch Kids 4 Pro is ready for your kid’s adventures, too. This smartwatch has 5ATM water-resistance design with its buttons kept in a waterproof enclosure so that they can take it for a swim for up to 50 meters.

It also has a counting feature and one-minute activity challenges for skipping rope, free skipping rope, and sit-ups. On top of that, it can track steps and provide a ranking to encourage kids to get active, an essential activity, especially these days that they spend most of their time at home.

The Huawei Watch Kids 4 Pro retails for CNY 998 in China, converting to around PHP 7,736 or USD 155. We’ll keep you posted on its local release.
