Laser dust detection to find unseen dust particles
The Dyson V12 Detect Slim uses a precisely-angled green laser integrated into the Fluffy cleaner head to reveal dust particles you typically don’t see. The idea came from a Dyson engineer who noticed the airborne particles in their home glistened in the sun. Then, a team of 370 engineers globally began working on this tech and this vacuum.
Dyson uses a green laser diode to show the best contrast and position it at a precise 1.5-degree angle and 7.3mm off the ground so any hidden dust on the floor will be revealed and easily removed.
Piezo sensor to show particle and dust sizes and quantity
Using this new vacuum, you can quantify how much dust is being sucked into it. The Dyson V12 Detect Slim integrated an acoustic piezo sensor in the vacuum and carbon fiber filaments in the cleaner head to pick up the microscopic particles.
When the dust enters the vacuum and hits the acoustic piezo sensor in the bin inlet, the tiny vibrations are turned into electrical signals. You can then see on the built-in LCD the dust size and quantity. The Dyson V12 Detect Slim is designed to increase its suction power when detecting a large amount of dust.
Five-stage filtration for a deeper clean
This vacuum uses the company’s Hyperdymium motor, which generates up to 150 air watts of powerful suction. It has a five-stage filtration that captures 99.99% of dust particles up to 0.3 microns and Dyson’s cyclone technology to separate dust and dirt efficiently. This machine’s sealing makes sure none of the dirt and dust get filtered back into your home.
Anti-tangle tech prevents hair clogs
Dyson has developed a new anti-tangle hair screw tool you can use with the V12 Detect Slim. It solves the issue of removing hair from the brush bar. It’s a conical brush bar that spirals hair off and into the bin, preventing any human or pet hair from wrapping around the brush bar.
