Huawei nova 9: Specs, features, PH pricing & pre-order details

Huawei’s newest mid-range handset is here. The Huawei nova 9—or what the company dubs the Huawei P50 lite—is now available for pre-order in the Philippines. But before we get into pre-order details, we’re sure you’d want to know why you might get one.

The brand has shared the four best features of this handset.

Vlog-ready cameras

The Huawei nova 9 is armed with a powerful 50-megapixel quad-camera setup. It inherits tech from the company’s more premium Mate and P series, namely the RYYB Colour Filter Array and XD Fusion Engine. These technologies are designed to produce clearer and sharper images even in low light.

Aside from the 50-megapixel Ultra Vision Cam, it gets an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel 4cm macro, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, along with a 32-megapixel high-res front camera. Both front and rear cameras get AIS video stabilization.

The nova 9 gets 4K Selfie Video, Continuous Front and Rear Recording, and Dual View Video. These features help make it possible to produce vlogs and other photo and video content. To edit the apps for social media sharing, Huawei offers its Petal Clip app, first seen on the Huawei P50 series.

Distinct design and display

Even with a new primary sensor, the camera module on the nova 9 somehow mimics the design of its predecessor. And with any other new-generation smartphone, Huawei offers the nova 9 in a new Starry Blue colorway. It’s made with a new Nebula process that gives the chassis a unique texture. If you’d prefer something more austere, there’s the Black, too. It’s easy to carry around with 7.77mm thickness and 175g weight.

The nova 9 has a 6.57-inch “1.07 Billion Original Color” display for immersive visuals with great detail. The screen is curved on both sides and, as its name suggests, can display 1.07 billion colors. It has flagship-ready 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate.

Capable performance and SuperCharge support

The nova 9 is a 4G handset running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor paired with HarmonyOS 2.0, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

With Huawei’s Super Device tech, you can use the nova 9 with other compatible Huawei devices. It can utilize Multi-Screen Collaboration, transfer MeeTime calls to a Huawei Vision smart TV, and more. There are also plans to bring HarmonyOS 2 Beta version to this device in the future.

To power all these features, the nova 9 has a 4,300mAh battery supporting Huawei’s speedy 66W SuperCharge.
