IN PHOTOS: ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED

This story was originally published on January 10, 2022, and last updated on November 23, 2022.

Is it a tablet? Is it a foldable? Is it a laptop? Yes. You can refer to the ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED as any of those devices. It was one of our favorite announcements from the tech company at CES 2022. And we’re here to treat you with a bunch of photos of this newest foldable.

For a specs refresher, the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED has a 17.3-inch OLED that’s foldable in the middle like a book, allowing you to use it in several ways.

You can take advantage of the entire 2,560 x 1,920 4:3 screen and prop that up with the integrated kickstand.

You can fold it in half and have two 12.5-inch 1,920 x 1,280 screens on top of each other in a clamshell style. You can then put the thin wireless keyboard and trackpad on top of the bottom screen or just use that separately from the folded laptop.

The ZenBook 17 Fold OLED can handle up to 30,000 fold cycles, but we don’t know much else about the screen’s durability.

It has a QHD webcam for your video conferencing needs and an IR camera for Windows Hello.

The ZenBook 17 Fold OLED also has ASUS’ ScreenXpert 2 software, making it easier to split the screen and fix what you have open.

ASUS plans to release the ZenBook 17 Fold OLED in the second quarter of the year, but it hasn’t revealed pricing yet. Of course, you can expect the price tag to be on the premium side.

We’re almost at the end of the year, and the ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED has finally made its way to the Philippines for a hefty PHP 219,995. (In the US, the starting price is USD 3,500.) It comes with an Intel Core i7-1250U processor paired with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Only 100 units are sold in the country through ASUS Concept Stores and partner dealers nationwide. It will also be available for purchase via Home Credit at 0% interest and up to 12 months of flexible payment terms.

The ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED is also covered by ASUS Platinum Protection Warranty. This guarantees that ASUS will cover 100% of the labor cost for any physical damage within the first year as well as 80% of the parts replacement cost of the repair.
