POCO F4 GT: What you need to know

POCO is back with what looks like another showstopping device, at least on paper. Its new POCO F4 GT ticks all the boxes you come to expect from a 2022 flagship. It has the latest processor, one of the fastest charging speeds, and A speedy, high-quality display.

Let’s do a quick rundown of what you need to know about it.

A peek under the hood

The POCO F4 GT runs on Qualcomm’s latest 5G chip, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, paired with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. POCO ensures smooth performance and a device that won’t heat up even during gaming sessions with its LiquidCool Technology 3.0.

Extra speedy charging

If you want to top up the POCO F4 GT’s 4,700mAh battery, it’ll take you only 17 minutes. This smartphone supports 120W HyperCharge wired charging with the charger it includes in the box. POCO equips the F4 GT with Multiple Tab Winding tech and its dual charge pump design to efficiently recharge while gaming. It also gets AdaptiveCharge, limiting the battery’s time overnight in the 80-100% range. This tech ensures the battery health and life of this smartphone are protected.

Get triggers

No, POCO doesn’t want you to get triggered. Instead, it wants you to use the magnetic pop-up triggers on the F4 GT. Hardcore gamers get the controller experience on this phone with the pop-up triggers’ magnetic levitation tech. According to POCO, you can press these triggers 1.5 million times without issues. And the brand claims it has been tested on over 100 popular mobile titles.

These buttons are customizable, so you can change them to what you need. Outside of gaming, you can customize these as shortcuts to trigger things like the camera, screen recording, or even the F4 GT’s flashlight.

Top-notch display

The POCO F4 GT promises an immersive gaming experience with the help of its 6.67-inch flat AMOLED display with a 480Hz touch sampling rate and 120Hz refresh rate. The company wants to emphasize how the display is flat to help prevent mistouches while in games. This handset also comes equipped with PWM dimming to protect your eyes without sacrificing color accuracy in low light environments and a 10-bit TrueColor display for more vibrant, realistic colors.

All the other tech

If you’re wondering about the camera setup, you get a 64-megapixel main paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and 2-megapixel macro on the back and a 20-megapixel selfie camera in front. You get a symmetrical quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support for better gaming and entertainment.

The POCO F4 GT comes in Stealth Black, Knight Silver, and Cyber Yellow. You can get it for:

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – PHP 27,590 / EUR 599
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – PHP 30,990 / EUR 699
