Huawei’s newest gadgets want to keep you productive

This story was originally published on April 28, 2022, and last updated on May 10, 2022.

Huawei zeroes in on productivity with its latest launch. We get some new laptops, a tablet, and a speaker to help ensure you get your work done. Let’s check them out.

Huawei MatePad 10.4

Huawei refreshes the MatePad with a new MatePad 10.4. It gets the best MatePad features like a 10.4 2K resolution Huawei FullView Display with dual TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free certifications paired with Harman Kardon-tuned speakers. The Huawei MatePad 10.4 supports features like Multi-Window and App Multiplier for your multitasking needs. The former lets you open up to four windows of apps at once, while App Multiplier addresses the issue of apps not running in landscape mode.

This HarmonyOS 2-powered tablet makes it easy to connect to other supported Huawei devices. So, if you want to turn the Huawei MatePad 10.4 into a second monitor for your Huawei laptop, that’s possible. It supports Multi-Screen Collaboration features that we’ve loved on the MatePad Pro 10.8. This tablet comes equipped with a 7,250mAh battery, supporting up to 28 days on standby and 12 hours of continuous local 1080p HD video playback. It also supports 22.5W Huawei SuperCharge, which means you can top it up in around two and a half hours.

Huawei MateBook D series

Aside from launching the new MateBook 14, Huawei also refreshes its MateBook D series. It comes in two size configurations (14- and 15-inches) with FullView Full HD IPS panels, a cinematic 16:9 aspect ratio, and TÜV Rheinland certification for Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free support.

Performance-wise, the MateBook D 14 and D 15 share the latest 11th-gen Intel Core processors built on the 10nm SuperFin technology, 16GB of RAM, and high-speed NVMe PCIe SSD storage. It also has Huawei’s signature Smart Fingerprint Power Button and a recessed camera. Connecting your other Huawei devices is easy through its Super Device feature. It allows you to quickly and wirelessly share files from your phone, edit across screens, and more. The MateBook D series comes in Space Gray and Mystic Silver.

Huawei Sound Joy

Huawei also introduced its first Bluetooth speaker, which you can turn into a smart assistant to help you with work. The Sound Joy has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance and an anti-slip surface, allowing you to take it on adventures. You get up to 26 hours of playtime with its 8,800mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging. A 10-minute charge gives you an hour of use on this device.

You can expect excellent sound thanks to Huawei’s collaboration with Devialet. The Huawei Sound Joy also gets features like Shake Stereo Link Up to connect it with another Sound Joy speaker for stereo sound and One-Touch Transfer to connect it to your supported Huawei device.

The Huawei MateBooks are already available, while the MatePad and Sound Joy will launch on May 5. The MateBook D 14 retails for PHP 43,999 (around USD 843 converted), while the MateBook D 15 goes for PHP 48,999 (~USD 938).

Now, the MatePad and Sound Joy have officially launched and you can get the tablet for PHP 18,999 (~USD 363), while the speaker goes for PHP 6,999 (~USD 134).
