How to delete shows/films from your Netflix Continue Watching Row

I’m confident I’m not the only person who has left shows or even movies to languish in the Continue Watching Row on Netflix. Sometimes a piece of content just doesn’t click anymore, and it just doesn’t “spark joy.” (You can’t tell me that isn’t an apt analogy for Netflix.)

You don’t have to keep those around to mock you for not finishing them. Netflix offers options to delete shows or movies from the said row. Here’s how:

Open the app, of course. There’s a slight difference in doing it on different devices, but the concept is the same.

On the phone or tablet:

On the TV:

On the laptop:

If you’d rather not have Netflix remember you’ve watched a show or film, there’s also a way to delete those. This feature will come in handy if you want to train its algorithm to show you the content you’d like to see.

To delete your viewing activity, this is what you need to do:

  1. Open Your Account on Netflix.
  2. Tap on the drop-down menu icon beside your profile.
  3. Scroll down to Viewing Activity and click on View.
  4. Then you just tap on the Stop icon to remove it from your list.

It will take around 24 hours for the title to no longer be labeled as something you’ve watched. And then, Netflix won’t use that to make recommendations to you.
