POCO X4 GT: A gamer and entertainment junkie’s device

One of the new POCO handsets launched is also looking impressive on paper. The POCO X4 GT is positioned as a gaming and entertainment machine. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset with 5G connectivity, 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

And if you spend hours on your phone gaming or watching content, you don’t have to worry about it heating up with its support for LiquidCool Technology 2.0 (like the POCO X3 GT). It has seven graphite layers that promise to efficiently dissipate heat from the screen and keep the CPU cool.

POCO claims the X4 GT has its “best-ever” LCD with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, faster 144Hz refresh rate, up to 270Hz touch sampling rate, and seven-stage DynamicSwitching to optimize that refresh rate for longer battery life and smoother display. The X4 GT also supports DCI-P3 wide color gamut for ultra-vivid colors and richer on-screen details on its 6.6-inch screen. To help protect your eyes, it has features like True Display, DC Dimming, and a Paper Texture mode. The display itself is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

To enjoy the content you’re watching and the games you’re playing, the POCO X4 GT retains a Dolby Atmos-certified dual speaker setup. Great news for wired earphones users, POCO brings back the 3.5mm audio jack.

With all the gaming you’d want to do on this phone, you need a battery to keep up with you. The POCO X4 GT has a slightly bigger 5,080mAh battery, which retains 67W turbo charging from its predecessor. This charging speed allows you to fully charge the phone in 46 minutes.

Now, if you want to capture your favorite moments, the camera setup looks similar to its predecessor. You get a 64-megapixel triple rear camera with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and 2-megapixel macro sensor. The selfie camera has a 16-megapixel sensor.

The POCO X4 GT comes in three colors: Silver, Black, and Blue. The rear panel’s design reminds me a bit of the OPPO Reno7. It will be available in two configurations:

  • 8GB+128GB: PHP 18,990 (around USD 347)
  • 8GB+256GB: PHP 19,990 (~USD 365)

As with other releases, there will be early bird rates for both models at PHP 15,990 (~USD 292) and PHP 17,990 (~USD 329), respectively.
