HONOR’s new vlogging-centric smartphone has appeared outside China and in the halls of IFA 2022 in Berlin, Germany. The HONOR 70 joins devices like the MagicBook 14 and Pad 8 as new gadgets that markets outside of China will get to enjoy.
If you want to learn more about this new entry into HONOR’s N Series of smartphones, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s recap its best features.
HONOR 70 as a ‘vlogging masterpiece’
HONOR wants users to know this device is built specifically for vlogging. You get features like a Solo Cut mode, where you can create vlogs and highlight a specific person in group settings. HONOR uses a technology it calls “Person Re-identification Technology.” It also gets dual video streaming or the option to record two versions of a video simultaneously.
The HONOR 70 uses a capable dual main camera setup that includes a 54-megapixel IMX800 primary lens and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide/macro lens. There’s also a somewhat more negligible 2-megapixel depth sensor at the back, plus a 32-megapixel “super clear” selfie camera.

Stable performance
HONOR equips the HONOR 70 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G chip with support for its GPU Turbo X and OS Turbo X. These technologies promise a smoother, more responsive experience even with heavy-duty tasks like video editing on your phone.
It also gets a decent 8GB of RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. This phone also runs on the Android 12-based HONOR Magic UI 6.1. A 4,800mAh battery powers this device. You can quickly top it up with its support for 66W SuperCharge.

The HONOR 70’s display & design
This handset has a 6.67-inch OLED curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. On the back, it has what HONOR calls a symmetrical slim design. Its colors remind us a bit of HONOR’s former parent company, Huawei.
The HONOR 70 comes in Midnight Black, Emerald Green, Icelandic Frost, and Crystal Silver. The latter two shades are reminiscent of premium Huawei devices, and that isn’t a bad thing.
HONOR brings the HONOR 70 to select European markets for a starting price of EUR 549. In the Philippines, the HONOR 70 will be available for PHP 26,990 (around EUR 465) in an 8GB + 256GB variant in two colors: Crystal Silver and Midnight Black.
Pre-orders are now underway until October 28, where customers can get a free JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth Speaker (SRP: PHP 6,999, ~EUR 121) upon placing a pre-order fee worth PHP 1,000 (~EUR 17) at any of HONOR’s partner stores or online from October 18 to 28 at the HONOR official store on Lazada.

HONOR MagicBook 14 & Pad 8
If you’re looking for a laptop, HONOR has a new one. The HONOR MagicBook 14 is its first computer to feature its OS Turbo. This tech claims improved battery life and up to 20.8% better power efficiency than its predecessor.
This laptop runs on a 12th-gen Intel Core i5-12500H processor with an option for an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 dedicated graphics card. It comes with a 75Wh battery that promises up to 17 hours of battery life on standby. If you need a quick charge, the MagicBook 14 can give you up to 3.5 hours of uptime after just 15 minutes of charging.

The HONOR MagicBook 14 comes in Space Gray, with pre-orders already kicked off in select European markets for a starting price of EUR 1,099.
Meanwhile, the HONOR Pad 8 is an affordable tablet for those looking for both a productivity and entertainment device. It gets a 12-inch 2K HONOR FullView screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 87%. It runs on HONOR’s Magic UI 6.1, and you get Google Play Services onboard. HONOR packs in a 7,250mAh battery into this slate for all-day connectivity.
The HONOR Pad 8 is available in Blue Hour with a starting price of EUR 329. The HONOR Pad 8 is also making its Philippine debut on October 29. The 6GB + 128GB variant in Dawnlight Blue will retail for PHP 17,990 (~EUR 310).
