realme’s focus at Mobile World Congress 2023 was all about its fast-charging tech. And it found its home in the new realme GT3. The brand has alluded to how the lineup is inspired by racing, even coming up with motorsport-inspired versions of past devices. So, exceedingly fast charging makes sense as a vital point for this smartphone.
And right now, it is the fastest charging speed available. The realme GT3 supports a fast wired charging speed of 240W.

But what does 240W mean?
What does this charging speed mean for you? You can recharge the realme GT3’s 4,600mAh battery from 0% to 20% in just 80 seconds. And a full charge just needs less than 10 minutes to complete.
Charging speeds are affected by different environmental considerations. But this fast speed is possible with a dedicated chip in the realme GT3 that helps with on-device charging management alongside its custom 12A charging cable, which is currently the cable supplying the fastest current in the industry. And as with other smartphones equipped with these fast wired speeds, you’ll need that cable and the charging brick to make it happen.

A large liquid cooling system ensures it stays cool and safe while charging. And if you’re worried about what this fast charging does to the phone, realme claims you don’t have to be. realme found that the GT3 had 80% of its lifespan after over 1,600 charging cycles with 240W enabled. This is more than double the industry standard of 80% battery health after 700 charging cycles.
300W next?
But realme (and its other sister brands under the multinational conglomerate BBK Electronics like OPPO and OnePlus) aren’t the only ones pushing the envelope with the fastest charging speed. Xiaomi’s Redmi brand revealed its 300W charging test on the day the GT3 debuted. But this tech isn’t available on any smartphone you can buy. However, we won’t be surprised if Xiaomi decides to ship this in the future.
What else does the realme GT3 offer?
realme’s GT line is its take on flagship killer devices. So, you get some premium specs to go with it. It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a max brightness of 1,400 nits and a 144Hz refresh rate. It supports 4K video, stereo audio, and HDR10+ for your enjoyment.
It’s not on Qualcomm’s latest premium chipset. But it still gets a respectable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, Adreno 730 GPU, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 1TB storage options.

The GT3 also has a triple rear camera system, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 2-megapixel macro. In front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
The realme GT3 is available in two color options: Pulse White and Booster Black. It gets a starting price of USD 649.
This impressive charging speed deserves the Cool Tech crown for this week! Send this to someone you know who would love to blaze through their charging time!
