HONOR continues to expand its X series lineup with the release of the HONOR X8a. This phone gets upgrades in the design, display, and camera department, with an attention-grabbing 100-megapixel rear camera system.
Sporting a 100-megapixel primary camera means the HONOR X8a boasts the highest megapixel count on an X series device. HONOR pairs that with its Super Resolution AI technology to help you take beautiful, high-definition photos easily. Having a higher megapixel count can help capture more details in different conditions. You get the more typical 5-megapixel ultrawide/depth camera, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor to accompany that main camera.

The X8a sports a flat edge design with smooth rounded corners. As a flat-edged display fan, I appreciate seeing it on this phone. It sports a 6.7-inch HONOR FullView LCD screen with a 93.6% screen-to-body ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s only interrupted by a small hole-punch for the 16-megapixel selfie camera and an ultra-slim 1.1mm frame around the three sides of the phone. You can notice a slightly thicker chin at the bottom.
On the back, it has that stovetop-like arrangement on the camera module with a smooth, shimmery finish for the Midnight Black, Titanium Silver, and Cyan Lake color options it comes in.

Weighing in at around 179g and coming in at approximately 7.48mm in depth, the phone feels slim and light to hold.
The HONOR X8a packs in a 4,500mAh battery with support for 22.5W HONOR SuperCharge, promising to take you to 50% in 30 minutes. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G88, which we’ve seen on devices like the Xiaomi Redmi 10, Android 12-based MagicUI 6.1, and an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration.

The HONOR X8a will be available for PHP 10,990 / GBP 219.99 (approx. USD 200). During the pre-order period between March 14 and 24, you get a free pair of HONOR earbuds worth PHP 1,590 (~USD 30).
