Apple has just unveiled the new iPhone 15 series. And with it, we get the new Apple iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Let’s get into the non-Pro models first.
The Apple iPhone 15 and 15 Plus get improved performance from the A16 Bionic chip we’ve seen on the iPhone 14 Pro series. The Dynamic Island comes to these non-Pro phones. There are more colors, a new USB-C port, and an upgraded camera system.
Like last year’s models, the Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. They get an improved outdoor peak brightness of 2,000 nits. And they have Ceramic Shield Glass for better water and dust resistance.
The Dynamic Island will definitely catch your attention on these phones. And Apple says there are more functions on this little island on your phone. The company mentioned pizza delivery tracking, summarized game info, flight schedules, and more.
You can now get the Apple iPhone 15 in five colors: pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. Apple says the color is embedded throughout the glass to create a new finish for these two models.
As we’ve seen in the rumors, the iPhone 15 series has USB-C ports, allowing you to use the USB-C cables you use for your other Apple products. There will be USB-C wired earphones for those who want them, and USB-C charging for the AirPods will be possible when connected to the iPhone, too.
Now, if you’re wondering about the camera system, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus now have a 48-megapixel primary sensor similar to the iPhone 14 Pro models along with its usual 0.5x ultra-wide lens. This new sensor allows for 1x and 2x optical zoom modes and better Portrait performance.
The company says its synthetic bokeh portrait shots should perform better in low light. Apple says you can change focus after you’ve taken the photo, which isn’t something you could do before.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus also get the second-generation Ultra-Wideband chip for better range when trying to find people and things. You can now directly find a friend with Precision Finding.
Apple expanded its Emergency SOS via Satellite feature to include roadside assistance. For US users, this feature will be offered for AAA members. It’ll be free for the first two years with an iPhone purchase, but Apple hasn’t revealed pricing.
The battery life for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is rated to be the same as its predecessor. Of course, you get a bigger battery on the larger Plus model.

The Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will launch on September 22. The iPhone 15 starts at USD 799, and the iPhone 15 Plus starts at USD 899.
