If a traditional timepiece is something you prefer rocking over the more tech-focused smartwatches out there, Huawei refined its more fashion-focused smartwatch series. We welcome the new Huawei Watch GT 4. This new series has some slight design tweaks to appeal to different users. Let’s quickly dive into these.
46mm or 41mm?
Huawei introduces a new octagon watch body on the 46mm Watch GT 4. It tweaks the classic round design we’ve seen in past GT watches to make it more distinguishable. According to the brand, it mimics a “diamond cut” or even the “chiseled exterior of octagonal headlights” found on performance cars. (In case you didn’t know, GT in the Huawei Watch GT stands for Grand Tourer, a performance and luxury vehicle that has inspired many classic timepieces.)
But if you prefer a rounded and smaller watch case, the Huawei Watch GT 4 is also available in a 41mm body. This one comes in a more elegant, somewhat feminine pendant design. Huawei tried to keep the black bezels to a minimum so the 1.32-inch AMOLED screen stands out. This watch is also thinner and lighter at only 9.8mm (compared to the 10.2mm thickness of its predecessor).
If you want that more sporty, large watch look, the 46mm is for you. Now, if you have smaller wrists or want a more delicate timepiece, pick the 41mm.
Stay active in black?
If you lean towards that more sporty, versatile look, the 46mm and 41mm Huawei Watch GT 4 models have a black rubber strap with a darker stainless steel case option. This style screams “sporty sophistication.” It’s meant for the more active user who wants the watch to blend in seamlessly.
For the 46mm model, the watch strap is elevated around the indent to help protect the watch body when it’s worn. So you don’t have to be too worried about using it for your different activities.
Timeless in brown or white?
If you want that more classic, timeless (pun unintended) look, you can get the Huawei Watch GT 4 with a brown strap for the 46mm model or a white band for the 41mm model. These straps are made to go from casual to formal with ease.
The 46mm model’s tan leather strap pairs nicely with the silver stainless steel watch case. Huawei also considered the cushioning on the strap to ensure this is one you can wear from day to night.
Now, if you want the clean and fresh look of a white leather strap, choose the 41mm model. It pairs well with the gold stainless steel case. This one can transition from dressy to comfy while showing off your style.
Stand out in green?
If you want something more distinctive, the 46mm Huawei Watch GT 4 has a rainforest green strap that goes with the silver stainless steel case. This one’s extra special with its eco-friendly make. The nylon fabric strap is made from 70% ocean-recycled nylon and 30% recycled polyester from plastic bottles.
So, if you want to show off your unique style while getting a more sustainable option, this is the style for you.
Sleek in silver and gray
If stainless steel watches own your heart, the Huawei Watch GT 4 has a couple of options.
The 46mm model has a gray edition that pairs the stainless steel body with an integrated stainless steel strap. The strap is made from 361L stainless steel because of its aesthetic appeal, hardness, and cost-effectiveness. You should expect this strap to resist corrosion better and achieve high gloss after polishing.
Now, if you want a smaller timepiece, there is a two-tone silver edition for the 41mm model. You still get the silver stainless steel body to match the band. But the difference is there are tasteful gold accents on the strap and the watch case.
Slimmer bezels and new watch faces
Like the 41mm model, Huawei tries to shrink the bezels on the 46mm Huawei Watch GT 4. The company claims it increased the screen-to-body ratio for these models by 13%. So, you get more out of the 1.43-inch display on the 46mm and the 41mm, too.
And with new straps and watch cases, you can choose from more watch faces, too. Huawei claims it offers over 25,000 official and third-party watch faces for this new series. Huawei Watch GT 4: Price and availability
The Huawei Watch GT 4 series starts at EUR 250. It will be available in the UK and Europe starting from October 4.
