This story was originally published on January 20, 2024, and last updated on February 10, 2024

Samsung made a bombshell announcement at its Galaxy Unpacked event when it teased the future launch of what it calls the Galaxy Ring. We finally got confirmation that the brand is entering the space. But we don’t even know when that’s coming out yet. So, if you’ve wanted to pull the trigger now and buy one of these smart rings. Here are some of the notable ones you might consider.

Oura Ring (Generation 3)

Price: Starts at USD 299

Oura is probably the most well-known smart ring maker. And its third-generation ring has a new optical heart rate sensor to monitor your pulse 24/7, seven skin temperature sensors to check your temperature throughout the day, and an SpO2 sensor to track blood oxygen saturation. It’s particularly geared towards monitoring your sleep and managing energy levels. It even offers guided meditation within the app, where you’ll see your data.

One of the smart rings to get is the Gen 3 Oura Ring which you see here touching the leaves of a plant

The Oura looks like a simple metal ring with its inside lined with sensors. It comes in between 4g and 6g, depending on the size you get. It comes in metallic silver, black, gold, and a matte black option. The downside to picking up the Oura Ring is you’re stuck with a monthly subscription. The ring will only show readiness, sleep, and activity scores without detailed information. Battery life is rated up to seven days, depending on what data the sensors are tracking.

Ultrahuman Ring Air

Price: USD 349

If you want a lightweight smart ring option, Ultrahuman offers this with the Ring Air. It only comes in at 2.4g to 3.6g depending on your size. Like the Oura Ring, it uses sensors to track heart rate, movement, skin temperature, and sleep. It is big on tracking your sleep and recovery. So, if you want a smart ring to help manage that information, here’s one to consider.

Ultrahuman Ring Air can track a lot of data and feed this into an app where you get to see everything you need is interpreted in a way that helps you out. It can last for up to six days. Ultrahuman offers the Ring Air in Aster Black, Matte Gray, Bionic Gold, and Space Silver.

Circular Ring

Price: Starts at USD 275

Circular Ring promises to give you more than one of your typical smart rings. It can track data like blood oxygen levels, heart rate variability, steps, temperature, and more. It also focuses on sleep and recovery, promising to offer detailed insights into your energy levels. But this one offers haptic feedback, bringing features like a timer, smart alarm, and even notifications. It has a “personal wellness assistant” called Kira that offers personalized recommendations.

Battery life rated up to eight days. There are Slim and Pro options, with the former coming in at just 2.2mm thin and 2g in weight (even lighter than the Ultrahuman Ring Air). Both don’t come with subscriptions either. The rings come in black, but the Pro model offers outer shells that come in silver, black, rose gold, and gold.

Movano Evie Ring

Price: USD 269

Movano wants to let the ladies know we’re top of mind when it made the Evie Ring. This is one of the smart rings (or the only one) that is woman-first. It has a distinctive open gap on one side that adds to the design, while also allowing it to account for finger swelling that can happen in warmer temperatures or because of hormonal changes. Its companion app includes period and mood tracking, which will help power its AI-based insights. Its goal is to offer insights that take into account your menstrual health, hormones, energy, sleep, and activity. You don’t need a subscription plan to access your data.

It can do spot checks and passive overnight readings for blood oxygen, which is standard for wearables. But it uses medical-grade sensors and is currently seeking FDA clearance for its pulse oximeter. Right now, it’s only available for iOS users because app support for Android is expected in the second quarter of the year. Movano says the ring has an estimated battery life of roughly four days, and the charging case holds up to 10 full charges. The Evie Ring comes in silver, gold, and rose gold, with sizes 5-12 and an optional sizing kit.
